For Tomorrow: Official Film Synopsis

Famous from the reality show The Amazing Race, Blake Mycoskie on a trip to South America to learn to play Polo, befriended children in Argentina and was moved when he saw they had no shoes to protect their feet. Determined to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a revolutionary company that gives a pair of new shoes to a child in need for every pair they sell. This film joins a group of Blake's family, friends and TOMS staff on an emotional journey to the remote villages of Argentina where they hand placed 10,000 matched pairs of shoes on the feet of children in need.

About the Festival

Orlando's Global Peace Film Festival goes beyond just promoting the mainstream definition of peace. It's purpose is to spread new ideas through the inspirational medium of film. These films go beyond achieving a goal of peace by expanding its definition. The films shown are not anti-war films with the normal ideologies that one would expect of the word peace. All of the films in this festival are about learning about cultures and events from all over the world, bringing everyone closer together through spreading awareness.

The festival, in its 7th year, has over 40 short films and documentaries that will be shown in the Orlando Area. The venues include The Winter Park LIbrary,  The Garden Theater, The Orlando Science Center and Rollins College. If you have been around the Rollins College campus for a while, you may have seen some flyers or emails about a program called Toms Shoes. Maybe you have even bought a pair or seen their ads on TV. The film For Tomorrow goes behind the scenes of this revolutionary new company that give a pair of shoes away to a child for each pair that is sold. If you have bought these shoes or even just heard of this amazing organization, the experience doesn't have to stop there. Come see what you may have helped accomplish in South America as the film tells the story of the companies efforts to put 10,000 pairs of shoes on the feet of children in need.
